What I Do

The process of therapy is a choice an individual or couple takes when desiring to renew balance or clarity in their life. I respect the delicate nature of exploring personal matters with a therapist. When you come in for the first time, called the intake evaluation, I begin by asking you the specific reason you’ve chosen to seek out therapy. After an understanding of why you’ve chosen to see me, I ask about background information to gain a better understanding of your world. This would include if you’ve ever been in therapy before; any health issues; current mood medications (if any), and a general outline about your life (family, place of origin, etc.) This session establishes the groundwork for the following visits, at which time we delve into the issues at hand more closely. I see my role as a guide who asks helpful questions that then open up passages in your conscious mind. Taking this approach, the goal is for you to leave feeling more insightful about how to act on strengths rather than vulnerabilities.

Please contact Pathways Counseling Service today to discuss your situation or that of a loved one. You are not alone, and I am here to provide care, support, and sound psychological counsel so that you can move on with your life and start anew.
